On Top of Still Waters

A few days ago, our youngest daughter looked out at the neighbors pond that borders our back yard and saw reflections of light on the water (at least, that’s what WE saw.)  She became very excited and told us that she saw angels on the pond (and who knows? Maybe she did.)  She watched for a few minutes and then quietly asked herself “I wonder what they’re doing?” A little while later, she exclaimed:

“I know what they’re doing!  They’re stirring up the waters!”

“Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.”  – John 5:2-4

I loved this. It is a blessing to observe the faith of a child.
